Special 100th anniversary Cuvée Chablis. Read more..
La Chablisienne is not only one of France's very best cooperatives, it is also the calling card for the wines of Chablis and the surrounding area. In 1996, the authoritative magazine "La Revue des Vins de France" confirmed this by electing it the best cave cooperative in France. The company alone accounts for about 30% of total production and combines this with a range of impeccable quality, be it a simple Petit Chablis or a prestigious Grand Cru. Although today La Chablisienne is one of the most successful and leading companies in the whole of France, the company was born out of sheer poverty, when in 1923 a group of 180 small farmers joined together to form a cooperative. A merger with another cooperative in Chablis came about in 1947. Today, La Chablisienne has 300 members with 1130 hectares of vineyards. Pearls in the crown are the six Grands Crus, with over 30 Premiers Crus in addition. Vinification and upbringing of the individual wines are tailor-made, for example where the use of oak barrels is concerned. All this results in classic Chablis with optimal expression of terroir influences.
